The pork belly is fantastic, also the wine list is worth a mention. Roast also does a cracking Full English which is sourced from the market.

ah, yes….i second the great report on Roast. Went there for a long, indulgent dinner (beginning in the bar) last time I was in town. cocktails got a thumbs up from me as well. beef wellington also = awesome. I was very happy to have starter cocktails in the bar – but we did try to find something elsewhere in the area to start at, but didn’t find much in the way of cocktails. anything in that neck of the woods worth stopping at before Roast for a predinner drink?

Wow – great review. It wasn’t a journey you went on there, more an alcoholic odyssey. Fabulous sounding place, and one that really cares about its drinks. A proper speakeasy, the sort you never (or I never) seem to find in London. The last place that did this sort of thing that i went to was as underground bar in Prague, or was it the cabaret bar in Budapest? Whichever, it was a long time ago.
